Evatae is the name of a fictional world I have been building. Right now I am still in the creation phase and do not yet know what, if anything, I will do with it. I am really enjoying the creation process itself; the birth of new cultures and people that spring from my imagination and the development of a mythology. Maybe once I have a good portion of the world built I'll start writing some stories to go along with the more encyclopedia version I have on the website. And mom, if you are reading this, yes the characters will have 'weird' names.

Many things have inspired me to start this huge process. The first has simply just been the characters and ideas that have popped into my head over the years. I have finally decided to let some of them out and put them down so as to not forget about them. Online roleplay has also been an inspiration as well, especially playing in worlds that were completely created by the game's god/goddess. Aether was one of those inspirations, I saw was Astra did with her world and I knew I could do something like that as well.

Many writers have also been an inpiration to me, such as Robert Jordan, George R.R. Martin, Guy Gavriel Kay and, of course, J.R.R. Tolkien. I enjoy picking up a book and disappearing into a fictional world and when one is done well you can easily picture it in your mind. It is for this reason that I selected the picture on the right as the image for this portion of my website, Lothlorien being a place in Tolkien's Middle Earth.
