Elemental wind mage. The mere mention of that blessed gift of the Kronian can bring awed looks from other Empyreans. Magic is rare among their race, and ones with this exceedingly rare elemntal magic are believed to be blessed by Zeus himself. Only an elemental wind mage may sit on the Throne of the Empyre and rule as Emperor or Empress, making thes mages highly popular when the present ruler dies or is deposed.
But to be Empress is the last thing that Phaedra could want. To wear the crown of the Empyre can mean but one thing to this free-spirit. Imprisonment. She would likely be the first choice of a greedy Aegian who would seek to rule the Empyre through her, while Phaedra was out on a hillside picking flowers and weaving them into a wreath to wear. She has not the temperment nor patience of politics, and is pleased to be kept out of that messy pit of vipers.
Instead, she enjoys her magic, almost like a child with her imaginary friend. Rather that use her magic for political gain, she's content to spend her days outdoors, dancing with a wind she creates herself, or allowing the wind to dance with the trees or flowers. It is not uncommon to find her perched in a tree or plunked down before a flowerbed, using her magic to cause the flowers to dance as she sings.
What exactly can a wind mage do? Novices have the ability to sense coming storms as well as creating small breezes or short showers. Acolytes are more skilled for, like novices, they can sense storms, but can also re-direct their course. They can create larger gusts or wind and more intense rainstorm. As training progresses further, wind mages can produce storms, create winds to lift people into the air and draw out devestating storms, such as tornados. Like the other elemental forces, an wind mage of some strength can be extremely distructive.
