The Acesian family is rather large and it would be impossible for them all to reside in Civitas Dei. Over the years the family has increased its number of estates in the Empyre. The following estates are the largest in the Acesian family and are also the ones that produce goods or in one way or another produce profits for the house. These will also explain where some of the Acesian money comes from.
Civitas Dei
The family home in the Celestial City is without a doubt one of the largest the family owns, a sprawling estate is established on the noble Palatine Hill, overlooking the expanse of glittering gold and white marble that comprises the city of Civitas Dei. The estate itself is constructed of white and gold marble, with red tile roofing, a common site among Empyrean houses. Gardens are found both within the estate courtyard and surrounding the low walls around the house, the greenery flourishing in the temperate climate. Flowers also fill the gardens, exploding in a riot of color and releasing a heavenly scent that drifts along on soft breezes. Fountains bearing the beautiful image of the house's father, Apollo, bubble cheerfully with a soft melody which means to relax those of this privileged family. The Acesius household in Civitas Dei is the center of the family, all business goes through this main estate at one time or another for it is from here that all the smaller estates are directed. It is the home of the Deus and Dea when they are not usually in the land-bound city of Haven and it is a cradle for those with a thirst for politics and scholarly pursuits, for the city provides a wealth of opportunity in this regard. There is nothing that happens in the Acesian family that is not known here, and the land-bound family members look to this estate as the pinnacle of Acesian wealth, knowledge and nobility. It is the best of the best.
Olympia
While the estate in Civitas Dei may be the largest of the Acesian homes, the one in the province's capital of Olympus can lay claim to the family's oldest estate, for the city was the Empyre's capital before Civitas Dei was raised to the heavens. This house and it's branch of the family are closest to those in the capital city, for they too are bent on scholarly and political pursuits, while also enjoying the pleasures of a noble's life. Because of it's location along the waters, this Acesian estate and it's family head up the majority of the trade the House generates, both within the Empyre and outside, by way of their ships and those of other traders, including the Atlantean people. For this reason, also, the Acesians in Olympia probably have the best relationship of the water-dwelling folk, but certainly nothing along the lines of equal associates or friends. They have the best understanding of the Atlanteans, for they deal with them more than the other estates. Aside from the estate in the city of Olympus, the Acesians also own a small vacation villa on the eastern coast of the province. It is roughly the size of the home in Haven, situated on a series of cliffs overlooking the ocean. It is also a favorite location for newlywed Acesians to spend their first weeks as husband and wife. The only residents of the villa is a small staff that keeps up the household and small gardens, no family members make the villa their full-time home.
Stygios
Located in the rugged mountains of the northern Stygios landscape, this is probably the smallest of the Acesian estates (aside from the one in Haven) but it is one of the more important. From this estate the Acesian family operates the mines that exist on their lands, both wide expanses of marble mines and those that hide the treasures of the earth: precious metals such as gold and silver. The Stygios Acesians, however, suffered the worst from the war with the Varati. Many of their mines were damaged by Varati troops, and many slaves were lost. Even now this branch of the family is still re-building, but finding that re-establishing generations of work quite a difficult task. Production has dropped considerably in this area since the war, but it is slowly improving. One saving grace for this branch is that they are a branch of the larger family and have had the funds of the more prosperous branches of the family to help it back on it's feet. The family has recently, with the contributions of the rest of the house, purchased some more land, but those mines remain for the time, untapped and will remain untouched until the family's main mines have risen back to the level of production they had scene before the war began.
Thessalonica
The sweet vineyards of Thessalonica have provided some of the best wines and ambrosias for the Empyre and have given the Acesians a taste for the best. This estate is the newest of all the Acesian households and is roughly the size of the Stygios estate. The house itself is small, most of the land is taken by the seemingly never-ending rows of succulent grapes hanging heavy on thick green vines. Production of the prized wines is conducted here as well. The vineyards are a smaller venture of the family and they provide little competition for the larger vineyards and wineries in the Empyre. Roughly half of their wine is kept within the family, similar to a family having a private garden from which they get their own food. But some of it does go to market and is considered some of the better wines to come from a smaller estate. For the time being, there is no talk of expanding this portion of the Acesian industry, for their profits come from the mines in Stygios and the largest of the producing estates, that which is located in the fertile valleys of Hermopolis.
Hermopolis
Easiest the largest of the land-bound estates, this household is the jewel of the Acesian crown as far as production goes. It is not one estate, but three spread out through the tracts of land that comprise Acesian territory in the southern portion of the province. From these estates comes linen, silk, cotton, and wool. Some of the finest fabrics come from the portion of the Empyre and the Acesians have a large portion of that industry from this province. They produce rugged material suitable for slave clothing, durable but beautifully woven cottons and linens used in bedding and table cloths, and delicate and beautiful linens and silks that adorn the finest Empyreans from just about every noble house. These Acesians are well-educated in the process of growing natural crops, tending herds and the worms that produce the raw material for silk-production. The noble family does not do the work themselves, but they are trained in the production and trade, from the moment the seeds are in the ground or the lambs are born, to the weaving and dying of the fabrics, to the current market value of each product. This is also easily the largest in the number of family members that live on the land, and because of their somewhat remote location from the eastern estates, most have never met family members outside those that live in this province. The Deus and Dea do visit from time to time, but aside from those visits, this branch stands on it's own.
